Queen of crime fiction PD James dies aged 94

Tributes have been paid to British crime writer P.D. James who has died at the age of 94.

She was 42 when her first book, “Cover her Face” was published in 1962.

Best known for her suave police detective Adam Dalgliesh, she wrote more than 20 books, many of which were adapted for film and TV.

P.D. James also worked for the government, including in the forensic science department of the Home Office.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Twitter that he was saddened to hear of the death of a writer who “thrilled and inspired generations of readers”.
